The Underground Seminary was created to provide an environment to learn the story of God in a deeper and more intentional way. We believe that learning the story of God (theology) is best done in a community context, so the Underground Seminary works in direct relationship with the Landing Place Community. Many of us learn better in an atmosphere where we are pushed to ask questions we may have never asked before, and to think about God in new and fresh ways, ways that are consistent with their historical context. That is what we strive for as we gather to challenge each other towards a deeper faith, a faith based in the tangible person of Jesus of Nazareth.

The Underground Seminary seeks to be a community of learners that is both informal and intense, deeply thoughtful yet practical. We seek to put our knowledge into action by allowing it to lead us towards mission. We are always willing to adapt our teaching styles to best meet the needs of the learner. We desire to know God for the sake of relationship with him, and we desire to pursue that relationship in a committed, learning community.
